The planning, development and design process for the Scheme has been rigorous and is of the highest professional standard. It takes account of architectural, environmental and heritage considerations raised during the public consultation process and provides for a technically feasible and integrated flood defence solution for the City in line with best international standards.”
In relation to the further presentation to the Local Authority members on the Morrison’s Island Public Realm Project, incorporating integrated flood defences, Cork City Council intend to commence the Part 8 planning process for this project before the end of November, 2017. The Minister went on to say, “I recently visited Cork and engaged with officials, the business and local community and met with the Save Cork City campaign group.
