January 2023 Update: Ornithology Survey

16th January 2023:

An Ornithology Survey of the Limerick Flood Relief Scheme Area is set to commence later this month (January 2023). 
MKO have been engaged to undertake the survey. 
Data from the Ornithology Survey will be used to inform an assessment of the environmental impact of the Scheme.

January 2022 Update: 177AE Planning Application

28th January 2021

Limerick City and County Council has made an application for approval to An Bord Pleanála under section 177AE of the Planning and Development Act 2000. The works comprise of ground investigation works at Annacotty, Ballynanty, Castletroy, Corbally, Condell Road, Dock Road and Conigar embankments (within the townlands of Annacotty, Ballynanty, Castletroy, Corbally, Conigar, Corkanree, Courtbrack, Kilrush, Monabraher and Sreelane) in County Limerick, and Athlunkard, Knockballynameath and Quinspool South embankments (within the townlands of Athlunkard, Knockballynameath and Quinspool South) within County Clare.

Submissions or observations may be made in writing to the Board at its offices at 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, during the period of 26th January 2022 to 9th March 2022. December 2021 Update : Surveys Ongoing

5th December 2021

Murphy Geospatial have been appointed by Limerick City & County Council to undertake level surveys of the embankments, river channels, structures,and building floor levels in the scheme area.
