Interim Measures Update 

April 2025

A significant programme of interim works has been carried out in the last number of months; the following items have been completed:

• Installation of replacement CCC gauge at Tir Cluain
• In channel vegetation clearance and removal of deposited material from the channel near the Lidl Bridge
• OPW hydrometrics team have installed two additional gauges in Midleton (Dungourney and Peoples Park). These are available to view online:

• Installation of temporary defences have been completed along the Owenacurra upstream and downstream of the New Cork Road Bridge. These temporary defencess consist of sandbags to protect properties along the New Cork Road and in The Woodlands Estate up to the 1% Annual Exceedance Probability Fluvial Event. This area was identified as having a very low threshold of flooding. It is proposed that these temporary defences will remain in place until the Flood Relief Scheme commences construction.
