Scheme Update - March 2023
27th March 2023
Cork City Council in partnership with the Office of Public Works (OPW) are engaging proactively to progress the Glashaboy Flood Relief Scheme for the Glanmire and Sallybrook areas.
The Tender for the procurement and appointment of a Civil Works contractor was advertised in January 2023. Tenders have now been returned and are currently being assessed with the intention of appointing the contractor in Q2, with construction works to commence shortly after. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately three years to complete.
In advance of construction commencing, and throughout the period the works are on site, the project team will engage with landowners impacted by the works. In addition, a Community Liaison Officer will be appointed on behalf of the successful Contractor. The project website will be updated on a regular basis to inform members of the public of the works’ progress.
